Hey, this fanfiction will make way more sense if you read the prologue: aablanton.deviantart.com/art/N…

I really hope you like it; leave a comment if you do! Or even if you don't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There in front of you, stood HIM. Tavros. The timid, brown-blooded sweetheart you had come to adore.
Having come to a sudden stop, Tavros let go of your hand to flail is arms about, in order to keep is balance. He wasn’t very good at running on his robotic legs yet. Or just balancing in general. His huge horns certainly didn’t help with this. When he finally gained some stability, he stooped over and rested his hands on his knees, trying to get some breath back in his lungs.
       “We need to talk, if that’s, um, okay with you.” He said, panting and looking up at you. You sighed; you really didn’t want to say no to those big, brown, dopey eyes.
       “I’m sorry Tavros, but I’m tired, and I just need to go home to finish stuff.” You could barely look him in the eye; you felt so bad about telling yet another lie to your closest friend.
He finally straightened up, huffing out a lungful of breath as he did so. He looked you straight in the eye, knowing perfectly well that you were lying. He just didn’t know about what yet. He gently grabbed your shoulders, making sure you couldn’t get away or look anywhere but at him.
       “________, I am worried about you. You’ve been acting, um, differently, lately. You’ve been really quiet, and uh, kind of sad looking all the time. You look all distracted when I talk to you, and act all funny.” He looked at you to see if you had any objections, and you remained silent.
       “I don’t know if uh, anybody else noticed, but I did and its making me really, really worried about you. You used to be the only one who really liked talking to me, especially when I was, um, in my wheelchair.” He skated over another topic you both disliked talking about; the time he had spent paralyzed from the waist down.
You knew he would never bring that up unless he really needed to get your attention or make a point.
       “Please tell me what’s wrong, _______.” He pleaded with his big doleful eyes. You knew he had brought up the sensitive subject to make the point that you had helped him through his darkest time, and that he would do all he could to help you.
       “Oh Tav, I can’t. I just can’t. At least not right now. Please believe me.” You said. It broke your heart to have to say this to the sweetheart.
       “…is it because you don’t trust me?” He said quietly in a tear-jerking voice. Your heart nearly broke right then and there.
       “No, Tavros, no! You know I’d trust you with my life!” Before you could say any more, he cut you off.
      “Then why!?” He said in a raised voice. You’d hardly ever heard him raise his voice before. He was much more determined than you had thought he could ever be.
You sighed, looking down and finally relenting. You raised your arm and offered it to him to look at. He looked at you, then at your arm, uncomprehending for a moment. You saw his eyebrows come together in that cute little look of confusion he did so well. It brought tears to your eyes, thinking that it would soon change to horror, or something of the like.
Finally understanding, he adopted a look of slight fear and apprehension. Gently, he took your arm and hesitantly pushed up the sleeve, like he was going to hurt you at the slightest motion. He looked ready to cry.
His face morphed into a look of shock, fear, and utter sorrow. He lifted the hand that wasn’t holding yours, and looked at you for permission. You held still, giving him silent agreement to go ahead. He brushed along some of your scars with the tip of his finger, carefully staying away from any that looked painful or were bandaged.
The shock and fear drained from his face as his continued to confirm to himself that what he was seeing wasn’t a nightmare. His expression was eventually dominated by a deep-seated sadness and determination. He placed a kiss on your wrist that lasted only milliseconds.
He straightened up, suddenly aware that he had been slowly bending closer to your wrist for the past minute. Then he pulled you in for a tight hug, careful not to bop you in the head with one of his horns. You wrapped your arms around his middle, nestling your head at the crook of his neck, and finally letting loose the tears that had been pooling in your eyes. He in turn buried his face in your hair. You stood there hugging each other for a long while.
Eventually he pulled back from the hug, and placed a shy kiss on your lips. His tentativeness made you smile into the kiss, giving Tavros the confidence to continue. You broke apart seconds later, and your begrudging smile earned a large, toothy one from Tavros.
He offered the crook of his elbow to you, and you looped your arm through it. You walked home together in this fashion, sometimes swerving because of Tavros’ imbalance.
That night you sat on Tavros’ lap, resting your head on his chest and listening to his heart beat as he slept. You curled up against him to get more comfortable and warm, and he pulled you close in his sleep. And right before you fell asleep, you knew that you had never been more content in your life.
Well that took a while! Sorry if I kept you waiting, or if this is your first time reading my series, WELCOME! You can read the rest here.
I have to say, I had the most fun writing this one out of all of them. Except Sollux. That one chapter is my baby. I hope you come back for more! :iconcutegamzeeplz:
